Bohemian Art Nouveau Iridescent Glass Inkstand — Bacillus Decor (c. 1890–1910)

This Bohemian Art Nouveau inkstand showcases a vivid, iridescent cobalt blue finish, distinguished by short, randomly applied glass threads characteristic of the Bacillus pattern. The body features a four-way crimped form, with sporadic glass trails that create a dynamic, organic texture.

The lid and hinge assembly are believed to be crafted from gilt bronze, exhibiting wear consistent with age and use.

Scholarly attribution suggests that the Bacillus line may have resulted from a collaboration between the Loetz glassworks and Tiffany Studios, reflecting a fusion of Bohemian craftsmanship and American Art Nouveau influence at the turn of the 20th century.

This piece retains its original inner inkpot, with visible ink residue, further enhancing its historical integrity.
