An early American J. & I.E. Moore ink bottle. Green aqua with yellow color streaks throughout. A few flea bites to the sheared rim.
The domed type with offset neck was patented and introduced during 1865 by J. & I. E. Moore of Warren, Massachusetts. This type of bottle was very popular and was used extensively for over 30 years. They were primarily made for use in schoolhouses.
