This early black glass ink bottle from Perth, Scotland is boldly embossed on its front “Todd’s Perth Ink”. The bottle is hand blown in mold, bimal, sunken smooth base, has an applied double ring collar, 8-sided or rectangular with wide beveled corners and a long neck. The glass is dark olive green or black glass. John Todd bought the Perth Ink Manufactory in 1836. Todd also owned a glass house, so he evidently made his own ink bottles.
