Sterling Silver Mounted Crystal Travel Inkwell

This rectangular travel inkwell has a sterling silver mount which is set on a crystal body.  It has a key screw to secure the lid. The inside of the lid has a black leather seal fixed by a plain silver plate.  The exterior of the lid is ornately decorated, and the central cartouche is engraved with an armorial crest depicting a Griffin holding a crown with the initials ‘W.R.M.H.’ beneath.  The glass inkwell has a star-cut base.  The inkwell is hallmarked for London 1853 with the maker’s mark of William Neal.
