The design patent number is 11,868 and labels this piece a “Fountain-Bottle”. It was patented for the spout angle and bulge at the base of the spout, the pen rests on the top of the body, and feet bumps on the base. The construction creates a forward tilt to better maintain the level of ink. The patent was granted to Michael H. Hagerty of New York, NY.
