This green marble with bronze decorative ormolu inkstand features an eagle with wings spread. On either side of the eagle are the inkwells covered with hinged lids with acorn finials. A pen channel is in the front.
A similar example is also shown. Made of marble (though darker) with a central eagle (though on a different plinth), the inkwells and the front decorations are the same. The second example is larger. The second example also has a plaque written in German:
“ZUM 25 JÄHRIGEN DIENSTJUBILÄUM 1887 – 24. NOVEMBER – 1912”
German to English:
“FOR 25 YEARS OF SERVICE 1887 – NOVEMBER 24 – 1912”
