French mid-19th century solid silver lock-down traveling inkwell. It has a faceted glass bottle and a silver mounted top decorated with period engraving. The silver screw-down key works perfectly and inside has the original leather seal. The inkwell is stamped with the French “minerva” silver hallmark and there is also a small silver “bigorne” stamp.
