This diminutive “pocket” sterling “lock-down” travel inkwell was produced in London in 1817. It is hallmarked with the lion passant, the crowned leopard head (used until 1822, after which the leopard lost his crown), the date mark lower case “b” for 1817, and the right-facing George III (1726-1821). It also is hallmarked with a tiny lion passant under the screw-tab. The hinge and screw-tab work perfectly.
