This bronze inkstand boasts many details and has three inkwells. A lizard eyes the eggs in the nest, while a bird is ready to protect them. Surrounding the nest are oak leaves and acorns. There are three inkwells in the background. Two stemmed glass inkwells have unattached lids with leaves and berries as finials. In the center, under an arch covered with ivy leaves is a pump inkwell – turn the control knob to lower the plunger to push the ink from the main reservoir into the font (covered with a lid attached to a chain).
