This inkstand features two lions—a male and a female—positioned on a stepped base. The male lion stands with its mouth open, while the female lion is lying down. The lions are sculpted in a realistic style with a painted finish. The base is black with a tiered, geometric design, and has two circular, stepped platforms on either side of the lions housing the inkwells. There is a pen tray in the front. The inkwell was made in Germany, as indicated by the marking on the bottom. The geometric design and sleek lines are characteristic of the Art Deco style.
