A bronze lion stands between two inkwells. The base is made of veined marble and has an area for resting pens. There is a bronze inkwell with a hinged lid at each end of the base. (inserts are missing on this piece).

A bronze lion figure stands prominently between the two inkwells with his head held high and turned slightly to one side. The sculpting of the lion is detailed, showcasing its muscular physique, individual strands of its mane, and the powerful curves of its body. The fur texture is often rendered with fine lines, and the features of its face (eyes, nose, mouth) are precisely defined.
