Measuring 3 ¼” in height

“Presented is an antique bronze okimono featuring a detailed sculptured design of a frog. Dating back to the Meiji period, this rare piece is a beautiful work of art that showcases the craftsmanship of the era. It has been made as a brush holder and an inkwell.

Standing at 3 ¼” in height, this okimono is a stunning decorative piece that would make a unique addition to any collection of Japanese art or sculpture. The item appears to be in good condition with a general patina, but there are some areas of gilded rubbing due to its age.

This antique bronze Okimono is marked on the inside of the clasp lid, indicating its authenticity, and further enhancing its value”.

I have in my collection an almost exact duplicate of this piece. My piece is made of pot metal, is numbered “613” on the bottom, has an old glass insert, sells for an average of $50 on eBay, and has no Oriental mark. The last picture is one of the piece in my collection.

I was surprised this bronze Okimono frog sold on eBay for £300 (about $394) by a seller in London: https://www.ebay.com/usr/taliesinantiques?_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2559

My advice about the bronze Okimono: Buyer Beware!

This piece sold on eBay for $394. See narrative.
