This porcelain inkstand features a dog resting on grass and flora. Lift the dog to access the inkwell (missing inserts). Given its age, it’s likely there was both an ink pot and a sander. The base is white with intricate gold designs (transfers) and forms a large pen tray. Marked on the underside of the dog is “Aich”, the mark for a porcelain factory in “Aich” (near Karlsbad, Germany). This mark was used between the years 1849 to 1860.
