- Type: Figural Novelty Inkwell (Equestrian Theme).
- Materials: Cast spelter with glass inkwell insert.
- Overall Form: The piece is a smaller, fully realized metal sculpture replicating a horse’s hoof and horseshoe.
- Key Design Features:
- The Hoof: It is a metal casting of a horse’s hoof, detailed to resemble the texture and contours of a real hoof. The bottom of the horse-shoed hoof is hinged and opens to reveal the glass inkwell insert.
- The Stand/Base: The inverted horse’s hoof is “held upright” by an integrated metal structure that simulates equestrian hardware. The decorative elements resembling horseshoeing nails and a piece of a bridle bit are engineered to form the supportive frame for the hoof.
