Black Forest hand-carved inkwell in the form of a dog’s upper body. The inkwell is intricately carved to resemble a dog, with detailed fur texture, panting tongue, and outstretched paws. The head of the dog is hinged and can be opened to access the ink compartment. Two examples are shown – one is missing the glass insert.  The dog has amber glass eyes.
