Halloween as celebrated today began to take shape in the late 1800s / early 1900s in America. Black cats with fangs and red eyes became popular Halloween decorations as the celebration became more focused on fun and less on fearing the supernatural, and were often depicted alongside witches, broomsticks, jack-o’-lanterns, and even inkwells!
Black Cat with red eyes and fangs sits next to the inkwell. This is a rare vintage Halloween collectible.
