This Art Nouveau double inkstand features a sitting dog (Greyhound or Whippet). The dog is surrounded by ornate, gilded metalwork with intricate designs and scrolls. On either side of the dog are glazed pottery inkwells, each with a lid topped by a fish-shaped finial. The inkwells are decorated with floral patterns. The underside of the inkstand is impressed with the markings “Made in Italy” and “MM”.
