A cold painted bronze pen wipe in the form of a seal. A pen wipe is used to clean the nib of a fountain pen, removing excess ink to prevent blotting and ensure smooth writing. The embedded bristles on the back are made of coarse hair, likely natural boar’s hair. The underside is marked “Geschutzt”, German for “protected,” indicating that the design or concept of this item was registered or patented in German-speaking countries.
