A figural inkwell in the form of a goat’s head, sculpted by Paul Wayland Bartlett (American, 1865 – 1925). Signed “P.W.B.” on the side of the base. Graham Gallery sticker on underside. Bartlett was born in New Haven, CT and after studying in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts he exhibited at the Paris Salon. He was commissioned to create numerous works for the US Library of Congress and US Capitol.
