This double inkstand, made with a blend of natural stone and detailed metalwork, features two inkwells, a central eagle figurine, and a pen channel.

  • Base Material and Form: The foundation of the inkstand is a marble base. The marble is a variegated type, predominantly off-white with veins of brown, tan, and pinkish hues.
  • Inkwells: Flanking the central eagle are two circular brass inkwells, both with hinged lids.
  • Central Eagle Figurine: Dominating the center of the inkstand is a brass figurine of an eagle. The eagle is depicted with outstretched wings, perched dynamically atop a globe. Below the eagle and globe is swirling, cloud-like,  metalwork.
  • Pen Channel: The front of the marble base features a shallow, elongated channel running across its width. This serves as a practical pen channel, designed to securely hold writing instruments when they are not in use.
