Domed (Central Neck) Ink Bottle Embossed “Bertinguoit”

This ink bottle dates from the 1830’s to 1840’s and is attributed to a Connecticut glasshouse, probably Coventry Glass Works. This domed cylindrical-shaped ink bottle is crudely blown from olive green colored glass. Embossed on the side of the bottle in large, crooked, early-style letter characters: “BERTINGUOIT”. The bottom of the bottle is thick, flat, with a circular open pontil scar appearing in the center of the base.
