A cold-painted bronze retriever with a bird in his mouth stands in the center of this stylish inkstand. The silver-plated base (hallmarked) is of rectangular shape, raised on four rounded feet, surmounted by another level with edge railing all around. At either end are carry handles, and in the front, a pen holder.
The cut crystal inkwells with silver banding and silver hinged lids have stems that fit nicely into their recesses. The silver on the inkwell is hallmarked English sterling silver.
