A large dog with glass eyes has his paws draped over a log set with utility spaces. There is great detail overall, especially with the chain and collar. The piece is made of molded wood pulp (probably Syroco – Syracuse Ornamental Co. – but not marked). Housed inside the dog’s head is a Sengbusch Self-Closing Inkwell with patent dates ending January 15, 1907.
