This inkstand features a multi-faceted crystal inkwell with a bottom stem and a detailed stag finial. The inkwell is set into a two-toned bronze base, which is adorned with four high-relief animalier scenes: a group of pheasants among reeds, a stag and a doe in a woodland setting, leaping rabbits, and three mallard ducks. Surrounding these scenes are intricate C & S scroll acanthus leaves, with scrolled palmettes at the bottom and cherubs’ faces at the top.
