This cobalt blue ink bottle is cylindrical in shape and held ink to fill fountain pens. The bottom is embossed with the letter “M”. The original label features the word “Cardinal” in cursive script and was called “The Perfect Ink”. This was supplied by the School Pen Company, 6 Rolling Mill Dr, Chatam N.J. The label reads “Student – Gum Free – Non Clogging – Free Flowing – Fountain Pen Ink”. It appears that the School Pen Company was active from around the 1920s to the 1950s, focusing on producing ink and writing instruments for educational purposes.
