This cobalt blue ink bottle is a product of the Adrien Maurin Co. of Paris. It is in the shape of a man’s shoe. There are three lace holes on each side. The top of the shoe is embossed “Adrien Maurin” with “Depose Paris” embossed on the upper heel.
The ink house of Maurin-Bertinguiot was established in 1790 in Paris, France. Adrien Maurin took over the business in 1837 after the original founder, Jean Baptiste Bertinguiot.
