Cold painted parrot – paint wear commensurate with age – has a hinged head which opens to access the ink pot.
A pair of parrots, one an inkwell, the other a pen wipe is also pictured.
I have seen similar parrot inkwells that appear to be modern reproductions in bronze. (This parrot is made from pot metal). One of these reproductions is shown here in the last three pictures with a link to its separate Inkipedia listing.
