This figural inkwell is a sculpture of a squirrel, created from cast iron. The squirrel is depicted in a classic seated pose, with its tail curled up and its front paws holding a nut. Its eyes are made of small glass inserts. The paint is a reddish-brown color. The inkwell is hinged at the neck. The squirrel’s head can be lifted backwards to reveal the inkwell inside the body. The base is shaped like a branch with leaves.
