This inkwell depicts a dynamic hunting scene, featuring a figure on horseback blowing a horn, likely signaling the start of a hunt. Two glass inkwells, each with a decorative brass lid flank the huntsman. Supports to hold a pen are in the front. The “B & H” mark on the underside identifies the maker as Bradley & Hubbard. It is number “7100” (model number). The inkwell is made of cast iron with a brass and painted finish.

Bradley & Hubbard Manufacturing Company was a prominent American manufacturer of clocks, lamps, and various decorative metalware items. They were based in Meriden, Connecticut, and operated from the mid-19th to the early 20th century.
