This hand-carved walnut inkstand features a dog in a seated position, with its front paws resting on a pen tray incorporated into the carving. The detailed carving of the fur texture, color variations, and glass eyes give the dog a lifelike appearance. The dog’s head is hinged and opens to access the inkwell (missing). Carved in Brienz, Switzerland.
