This cold painted bronze inkstand depicts a barnyard scene with a group of fowl, including chickens and a rooster, foraging within a fenced area. The fowl at the back are shown in profile. The inkstand is supported by four legs designed to look like tree branches. In the center of this miniature diorama is an inkwell that resembles a wooden barrel or trough. The craftsmanship is meticulous, capturing the textures and colors of the feathers and wood in detail.
