This inkstand features an anthropomorphic monkey, sitting on a stool, wearing a beret while stoking a grill with his bellows. There is a covered pot on the grill (hinged) with a ladle handle which opens to the inkwell. On the ground are an inverted pot and a pitcher. The piece sits on a marble base.
