Amethyst Glass Traveling Inkwell

The top of this early 19th century inkwell is made of sterling silver. The lid has a locking mechanism.  The bottom is made of cut and polished amethyst-colored glass. The hallmarks date the piece to 1834, attributed to silversmith Christopher John Buckler of London.

Sold for $238 in December 2023
