This hand-carved inkwell features a cat with glass eyes, seemingly stuck in a hat. The hat is hinged at the top allowing access to the glass inkwell inside. The craftsmanship showcases detailed wood carving, mimicking fur and fabric folds. On the base, the word “Kolmyja” is carved. Kolmyja is a city in Ukraine.
Example #2: This hand-carved Black Forest inkwell features a cat with expressive glass eyes, popping out of a hat. The cat’s head is intricately detailed, with carved fur that adds to its lifelike appearance. The hat, which forms the main body of the inkwell, has a brim that wraps around the cat, and there’s a feather quill resting on the brim.
