This ornate French inkstand features a horse and dog figure above two glass inkwells integrated into a cast metal base with a bronze finish. The base rests on four ornate feet. Each inkwell has a hinged metal lid and a glass-stemmed bottom that fits snugly into the openings in the base.
A horse is in a trotting pose, with its head slightly lowered. The casting captures the horse’s musculature and its facial features, mane, tail, and legs. A little dog is running alongside the horse.
