This inkstand is in the form of a detailed owl with glass eyes. Its wings are spread wide, creating a tray that can hold pens. The feathers on the wings are finely detailed. The owl’s head is hinged and can be opened to reveal the inkwell inside. Originally, this inkstand was silverplated, but most of the plating has worn off over time. The underside is marked “J B 618”.
