This is a cold painted bronze pen wipe designed to resemble a bird. The bird is intricately detailed to mimic feathers and stands on two feet with distinct claws. The back of the bird features bristles, likely made from natural boar’s hair, used for cleaning pen nibs. The underside is marked “Geschutzt,” indicating that the design is protected or patented in German.
