This is a traveling inkwell in the form of a doctor’s bag. It is leather covered with a tooled pattern on the side and its original brass looped handle on the top. To open, press the button at the front. This springs the bag’s lid open. Inside is another spring-loaded lid covering the glass bottle. Under the interior lid is a leather pad which seals the ink bottle when in transit.
