This cast-iron inkstand depicts a charming scene. A dog returns to find a cat in his dog house. The cat’s back is arched, ready for a fight. There’s much detail: debris on the doghouse, tied sheaves of wheat (pen holder), food dish, a bucket with a movable handle. It all rests on a heavy oval marble base.
