Crude early 1800’s Stoddard Type 8-sided umbrella ink bottle. The color is a shaded golden amber or “Old Amber”. The lip is crudely tooled, uneven, and extended. This ink is dated to the early 1800’s and is attributed to the Stoddard Glass or other New England glassworks of the era. The base has a crude tubular open pontil on a slight kick up. This ink has crude whittled, pebbly glass with numerous small seed bubbles scattered throughout, but no open bubbles on this ink. There is an internal glass bird swing in the bottom side of the ink. There is some slag in one corner on the inside of the base.
