A figural inkwell cast in the form of a cockerel or rooster proudly standing on a naturalistic, circular base. Showcasing beautiful details, particularly on the plumage, the rooster is depicted crowing. His head opens to reveal the inkwell. There is a maker’s mark on the underside, but it is illegible. The original fasteners are embossed “Sheffield”.
