This solid silver square traveling inkwell has reeded borders and a hinged screw-down lid surmounted by a folding, shaped, and reeded screw. The lid retains its original inner cork to prevent leakage. Henry Tippen of London is the maker. It is fully hallmarked, although the maker’s mark is slightly rubbed. Only the lower half of “HT” is visible, along with the Sterling Silver mark, the mark for London, and the letter “P” for the year 1810.
