A desk tidy featuring two artillery shell timing fuses made into inkwells. The piece is inscribed “Zillebeke Menin Rd 1917”. Zillebeke is a village in the Flemish province of West Flanders in Belgium. It is now part of the Belgian city Ypres. Perhaps one can presume this is the location where the fuses were found in 1917.
