Ceramic world globe on a tiered circular base. Transfer printed, polychrome exterior with two ceramic inkwells inside. All the markings on the globe are in English, though the inkwell was made in Japan (there is an impressed Japanese mark on the bottom).
Trying to date this inkwell, “German South West Africa” changed to “South West Africa” in 1919. Other countries are listed whose names have changed: Belgian Congo, Abyssinia, Rhodesia, and Baluchistan.
A second version (green base) also has a pen holder.
