This WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) inkstand is designed to resemble a speedboat with a helmsman. The glass inkwell is located in the bow’s front cargo area. At the stern (rear) where the motor would be, there’s a storage compartment. The pen tray is formed at the water’s wake in front of the helmsman.

WMF, which stands for Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik, was a German company known for its high-quality pewter and silver products. The underside of this inkstand bears the WMF mark and is impressed with an “EP” (electro-plated) and “OX” (oxidized), and “I/O” (normal thickness).

Sold for $57 in October 2024
