Wedgwood drabware gained popularity in the 19th century and is known for its muted, sophisticated color palette. The olive-green hue of this inkstand was achieved by using dark clay instead of white clay, which was then glazed. In this version, 22K gilding decoration was added. Impressed on the underside: Wedgwood.
