This urn-shaped inkwell is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s (NYC) collection of European decorative art. The piece is inscribed with an “A” with a coronet. It bears the mark “AD” in oval which is the maker’s mark for Abraham Drentwett IV, 1711–1785, master 1741. The pinecone mark is the town mark for Augsburg for 1767-69.
