English Victorian honey oak inkstand with plated brass mounts. This inkstand was presented as a trophy. On the plaque affixed to the front it reads:
“C.S.C. Handicap / 1888 / 1st Prize / W. Graham”
The inkstand has a pull-out storage drawer. On top are pen channels on each side. In the middle, between two inkwells with removeable glass liners, stands a man with mutton chop whiskers wearing a star boater hat and holding a disc. It’s unclear what C.S.C. stands for – perhaps Cambridge Sailing Club or something similar?
Sold for $560 in December 2023
