This sterling silver standish features paired cut glass inkwells with silver mounts and lids and a taper stick, also made of silver, between the inkwells. The rectangular silver base is beautifully decorated with intricate floral and leafy chasing. The base is supported by four scroll feet. The cut glass inkwells have a faceted design. The inkstand is hallmarked for Martin & Hall of Sheffield, 1864.
