A large sterling silver mounted cut glass watch / inkwell combination. The hinged silver lid has an enclosed Goliath pocket watch which slots into a frame with a bayonet fitting. The lid has an inscription:

Presented by C. B. Briggs Esq to Meyrick Golf Club for Spring Meeting 1903 won by A. G. Andrews (?)

The lid, frame, and lid all bear matching hallmarks for John Grinsell & Sons, London 1902.

Sold for $270 in December 2023
